Tiger Woods 1992 Nissan LA Open
Here you go! A 16 year old Tiger Woods playing in his first PGA Tour event. The tournament was the 1992 Nissan LA Open at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. Tiger needed permission from the principal's office at Western High School to compete that week.
His time there may have been short -- he missed the cut after shooting 72-75 -- but the education he received was more important than anything he would have learned during his sophomore year in high school.“It was a life-changing moment for me,” Woods says now. Heck, It was a life changing event for the entire golf world.
I made this shot on the first day of the tournament while on assignment for Sports Illustrated...probably one of the first golf tournaments I shot for the magazine. I only shot five rolls of film that day and this was the 22nd frame on the last one of them.
The print is offered in three sizes. The slide shows the original crop as it was shot. The accompanying image shows the approximate print crop.
The crops are approximate and allow for a border to be used in framing/mounting and for the title/signature. All prints larger than 8.5x11" will be titled, numbered and signed. All prints larger than the 8.5X11" are offered as limited editions. No more prints of a particular edition will be printed once it has sold out.
The original slide is also available for purchase. There is, obviously, only ONE original slide available. It is ONE OF A KIND. Once that one original slide is sold it will be pulled from the shop.
You will need to read the terms and conditions and check the appropriate box prior to paying for your purchase. Shipping within the USA is free via USPS Ground Advantage. Processing and printing takes between three to seven working days. Feel free to drop me a note if you need to expedite shipping or have any other questions.
