Tiger Woods 2003 WGC-Accenture Match Play
I experimented a bit with a Polaroid instant black and white film (known as Polapan) during the 2003 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in La Costa, a short bike ride from my home in Carlsbad. The film is very brittle and can be processed on the spot with its own little box of chemicals. I shot a couple of rolls and processed them when I got home. The look is kind of surreal...contrasty yet soft. The print has a few blemishes that only ad to the character. Oh, did I mention Tiger won the tournament. He blew through Carl Pettersson, KJ Choi, Stephen Leany and Scott Hoch to reach the final four. He snuck by Adam Scott in the semis on the 19th hole then disposed of David Toms 2&1 in the final. With the victory Tiger became the first player to win all four of the World Golf Championships.
The print is offered in three sizes. The slide shows the original crop as it was shot. The accompanying image shows the approximate print crop.
The crops are approximate and allow for a border to be used in framing/mounting and for the title/signature. All prints larger than 8.5x11" will be titled, numbered and signed. All prints larger than the 8.5X11" are offered as limited editions. No more prints of a particular edition will be printed once it has sold out.
The original slide is also available for purchase. There is, obviously, only ONE original slide available. It is ONE OF A KIND. Once that one original slide is sold it will be pulled from the shop.
